Song #3-"For the Night"

I wrote this one during the summer, too. Haha, this one is also about my fantastic boyfriend. I miss him, and I've been having a rough time with this whole music thing. Read about that here.
Enjoy the song, and I'll keep them comin'.

Song #2-"Fool For It"

This one I wrote during the summer, when I was in the midst of falling for my boyfriend.
It's basically about how I really care for him, and how for once that's actually okay. Because..well..he's a really good guy.

The drum track makes me happy.

Soon, I'm gonna start posting some of my old stuff...tee hee..

Song #1 "Open Letter to the World"

I wrote this song last spring after getting rejected by Howard's Music Department. I was very down on myself at the time and was trying to motivate myself to keep doing the only thing I know how to do.

Check it.

This is for my music.

Pretty self explanatory, yeah?
Taking the advice of my super smart best friend, Christa, I decided to make a blog strictly for and about my music.

I suppose it's appropriate for me to have a biography or sorts...Ahem..

Manisia M. Larkins was born in Chicago, Illinois. Raised by her parents in various parts in and around the city, she harbored a love of music at a very young age. This is mostly her father's doing, who blasted Stevie Wonder and Earth, Wind and Fire in the house from the time Manisia was born. Her father even claims that he was playing Donald Byrd's "Place and Spaces" album in the delivery room.
Manisia developed a talent for singing at the age of six when she discovered her voice was rather different from the other kids in school. She hasn't stopped singing and writing songs since.
She is currently a freshman at Howard University, studying music under some very influential professors. She hopes to become a music therapist whilst still writing and performing her own music. She also hopes to start a band.

So, listeners/readers..whoever you may be...enjoy...=]
